My name is Maria Hughes, I have been teaching art for 15 years now.  For 13 of those years, I have been at Booneville Middle School.  I teach grades 5 through 8 with the 7th and 8th grades being what you would call 'normal classes' and the 5th and 6th grade classes on a rotation schedule.

This year, I have amazing students who are interested in art.  They'll eat up any information you can share with them.  They are independent thinking kids who seem to all be searching for a way to express their individuality.

I try to give them a basic intro to the elements and principles of art and touch on art history.  I am hoping I can interest them enough to pursue art in high school.
