Custom Cut Sonoran Rhyolite and Rolling Hills Dolomite with Handmade Stoneware Beads
Sonoran Rhyolite and Rolling Hills Dolomite
* Custom carved two-sided bead Pendant - 4" x 1 1/2 "
* 25" Adjustable slip knot
* 2 mm Leather Cording
I made this just for fun. I cut a shape that enhanced the landscape already in the stone, and added natural clay beads and leather cording, which work well with the browns of these unique stones. The materials are soft and take a satin polish.
Sonoran Rhyolite is a visually striking volcanic rock found in the state of Sonora, Mexico. It is highly prized in the lapidary community for its vivid, abstract patterns in rusty reds, browns, and blue-grays, punctuated by intricate, feather-like "dendrites".
Rolling Hills Dolomite, is a uniquely patterned sedimentary rock mined almost exclusively in Chihuahua, Mexico. It is famous for its distinct, wavelike bands of tans, pinks, and reds, which resemble rolling hills or a miniature desert landscape.
